Applications exposed to heat, moisture, oils, and demanding operating conditions require materials capable of maintaining their properties over time. In sectors such as industry, mining, and oil & gas, components are often subjected to mechanical stress, harsh environments, and continuous use. Selecting the appropriate thermoplastic elastomer is therefore essential to support long service life and reliable operation.

ETERNALAST® TPU is UBE’s range of thermoplastic polyurethanes based mainly on polycarbonate diol technology, developed to provide superior durability compared with conventional polyether- and polyester-based TPU materials.

Polycarbonate-based polyurethanes offer enhanced resistance to heat, hydrolysis, oil, and weathering. This combination of properties makes ETERNALAST® TPU suitable for applications where standard TPU grades may not provide the required level of durability.

The material structure is specifically designed to perform under extreme temperature conditions and in demanding chemical environments.

Among its key advantages are excellent high-temperature performance, resistance to oil, and various non-polar solvents, as well as UV, and weatherability stability. The range also offers high cut and tear resistance, low compression set, and a wide application temperature range, helping support demanding end-use requirements.

The ETERNALAST® TPU portfolio includes both LD and LS series grades for extrusion, injection, and injection-moulding applications. The product range covers different hardness levels and mechanical profiles, allowing manufacturers to select materials according to their specific requirements.

ETERNALAST® TPU is designed to extend the lifetime of demanding applications while providing a combination of durability, chemical resistance, and mechanical performance.
