An architectural narrative captured through fine art and lifestyle photography

Nestled amidst the centuries-old olive groves of Oria in Puglia, Borgo Gallana stands as a testament to the harmonious blend of historical preservation and contemporary minimalism. Originally comprising two traditional farmhouses, this retreat has been thoughtfully transformed by Studio Andrew Trotter into three self-contained residences, each echoing the serene beauty of the Apulian countryside.

Preserving Heritage While Embracing Modernity

The renovation journey began with a deep respect for the existing structures. Vaulted ceilings, cement floors, and local sandstone “tufo” were meticulously preserved and integrated into the new design. Studio Andrew Trotter introduced a central courtyard, connecting the residences and fostering a sense of community while maintaining individual privacy.

The Philosophy Behind the Design

Owner Giuseppe De Vanna envisioned Borgo Gallana as a physical manifestation of his cherished memories of Puglia. Collaborating with Andrew Trotter, the design philosophy centered on simplicity, authenticity, and a deep connection to the land. Local materials, traditional building methods, and artisanal craftsmanship were employed to create spaces that resonate with the soul of southern Italy.

Capturing the Essence Through Fine Art Photography

At Erica Brenci Studio, we recognized that traditional photography methods might not fully encapsulate the soul of Borgo Gallana. To honor its unique character, we employed both digital and film photography, allowing us to capture the nuanced interplay of light, shadow, and material. Film photography, in particular, lent a timeless quality to the images, echoing the villa’s blend of history and modernity.

Our focus was not merely on documenting spaces but on conveying the atmosphere and emotion inherent in each room. By highlighting architectural lines, textures, and the subtle transitions between spaces, we aimed to tell a visual story that resonates with viewers on a deeper level.

Elevating the Brand Through Lifestyle Photography

Beyond architectural shots, we incorporated lifestyle photography to showcase how Borgo Gallana functions as a living, breathing space. Capturing moments of daily life—be it a sunlit breakfast nook or the serene ambiance of the infinity pool—adds depth to the narrative and allows potential guests to envision themselves within the space.

This approach not only enhances the visual appeal of the property but also strengthens its brand identity, positioning Borgo Gallana as more than just a luxury rental—it’s an experience, a retreat, a home away from home.

A Destination for Australian and New Zealand Travelers

Puglia’s allure has been steadily growing among travelers from Australia and New Zealand, drawn by its rustic charm, culinary delights, and picturesque landscapes. Borgo Gallana, with its authentic design and serene setting, is perfectly poised to cater to this discerning market.

By integrating lifestyle and wedding photography into the property’s branding, we can create compelling narratives that resonate with these audiences. Styled shoots, reflecting the venue’s aesthetic and targeting the preferences of Australian and New Zealand travelers, can further enhance its appeal and visibility in these markets.
