The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), in partnership with the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) Implementation Support Unit, invites applications for an intensive training course on “Pathogen Detection and Biosecurity.”

This course combines hands-on laboratory training with policy insight to strengthen outbreak preparedness and responsible research.

Highlights

  • Understanding the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC)
  • Practical training in qRT-PCR, LAMP, and molecular diagnostics
  • Introduction to genomic surveillance and bioinformatics
  • Scenario-based outbreak simulations
  • Biosecurity risk assessment and DURC governance

Who Should Apply

Early- to mid-career scientists in virology, microbiology, or related biological sciences working in human, animal, or plant health. Applicants must have hands-on experience in molecular diagnostics, work in at least a BSL-2 laboratory, and have a working knowledge of English.

Female applicants are encouraged to apply.
