Luca Van Assche claims his first ATP Tour title in Estoril and breaks into the Top 50 – Tennium

Our Tennium Player, Luca Van Assche, has reached a major milestone in his professional career after capturing his first ATP Tour title at the ATP 250 Millennium Estoril Open.

The 22-year-old Frenchman defeated Belgium’s Alexander Blockx 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 in a hard-fought final lasting two hours and 24 minutes, lifting the biggest trophy of his career to date.

The victory also marks another significant achievement, as Van Assche climbs to a career-high World No. 48, breaking into the Top 50 of the ATP Rankings for the first time.

The title caps an outstanding week in Estoril, where Luca demonstrated consistency, resilience and composure under pressure, earning the first ATP Tour trophy of his career.

Reflecting on the achievement, Van Assche told ATPTour.com:

«I’m very happy to win my first ATP title. It was a long and difficult road, but I’m very proud of how I handled every match this week.»
