Q: What inspired you to make music?
A: “I felt an undeniable calling from within! Performing the great American songbook in theatres worldwide, including becoming the youngest big band singer at the Dubai Opera House at 24, was an incredible experience. However, I noticed the audience was of an older demographic. This sparked my desire to make jazz and swing appealing to a younger audience. Creating my own music, blending modern elements with jazz and swing inspirations, became the solution. My first solo single, ‘1961’, embodies this approach, and gained attention on national TV and radio, which told me I was onto something with this gap in the market! And now ‘Forever With You’ continues this journey with a heartfelt ballad.”
Q: How would you describe your sound?
A: “I describe my sound as that of a modern-day crooner, combining mainstream pop with jazz, swing, big band, and orchestral influences. It’s a contemporary mix, reminiscent of Michael Bublé and Stephen Sanchez, yet distinctly my own.”
Q: What elements do you draw inspiration from when creating your music?
A: “I draw inspiration from life experiences and aspirations. Whether reflecting on the past, present, or future, real-life emotions fuel my songwriting. Like an actor, I tap into these authentic emotions to craft genuine and relatable music.”
Q: What is your music creation process like?
A: “Working with my producers, K and Pengwin, we start with piano chords, develop a vocal melody, and then add drums and other instruments. We typically write and record the song in one session, often working through the night from 7 pm until 4 or 5 am.”
Q: How do you plan to keep your fans engaged?
A: “With over 250 live shows per year globally, I stay deeply connected with my fans. Additionally, I have new songs ready for release, ensuring a continuous stream of fresh music for them to enjoy.”
Q: Tell us about your upcoming releases and provide further details about them.
A: “I have two singles set for release in the summer of 2024, which lean more towards mainstream sounds aimed at reaching a broader commercial audience. These tracks reflect my evolution as an artist and my ambition to connect with even more listeners.”
Q: Collaboration can be a significant aspect of music production. Did you collaborate with anyone on this project? If so, how did these collaborations come about, and what did they bring to the table?
A: “I collaborated with my producers, K and Pengwin, who were instrumental in bringing these tracks to life. Each of us brings our unique strengths to the table, and their ability to transform my vision into a song is unparalleled. Their understanding and expertise were crucial in creating this music.”
Q: Music can be a powerful platform to convey messages or support causes. Is there a message or theme in your upcoming release that you hope listeners will grasp?
A: “I aim to continue the uplifting and love-filled tradition of the great American songbook and big band songs. While modern music can often focus on negative emotions, I want to spread positivity and joy through my music, encouraging listeners to embrace love and happiness.”
