High precision non-invasive electroanatomical cardiac mapping based on artificial intelligence to guide protontherapy cardiac ablation (Proton-ECGI)

Hypothesis: The personalization of high-precision, non-invasive cardiac digital twins based on imaging and real-time cardiac motion tracking through non-invasive cardiac mapping and artificial intelligence will enable millimeter-level precision in guiding cardiac ablation through radiotherapy.

Main Objective: The primary goal of this project is to develop and validate a real-time cardiac mapping system for planning and guiding proton therapy-based cardiac ablation.

Specific Objectives

Cardiac Digital Twin:

Generate a parametric mathematical model of the cardiac geometry that can adjust cardiac morphology and electrical activity throughout the different phases of heart contraction.

Real-Time Cardiac Mapping and Tracking:

Develop and validate an automated cardiac gating system by combining impedance tomography and electrocardiographic imaging-based mapping. This system will allow for the adjustment of cardiac displacement during contraction and relaxation cycles to optimize the application of the ionizing beam.
