Eye-Tracking technology applied to Industry: how it works and what it is used for
SR LABS, the leading Italian company in the development of solutions based on Eye-Tracking technology, announces the opening of two new business units in Germany and France. This strategic expansion strengthens the company’s global presence and consolidates its role as an innovator in the sector.
Eye-Tracking is an advanced technology that enables the acquisition, recording, and analysis of eye movements, providing essential data to understand attention levels, information selection, and enabling interaction with the surrounding environment.
Focus on the Industry: SR LABS Innovation with CAVS
At this stage, SR LABS is focusing its offerings on CAVS (Computer Aided Visualization System), an enabling technology for the industrial sector that allows eye control and interaction through gaze in production processes. With over 20 years of experience in the Healthcare and Market Research sectors (UX/UI research, neuro-marketing tools), the company is launching a proprietary product developed in-house by its R&D department.
CAVS is applicable in multiple industrial sectors, addressing three main needs:
- Increased production efficiency: Monitoring cognitive load and operator attention levels, improving the usability of work tools, and optimizing interaction with the surrounding environment.
- Enhanced knowledge transfer: Analyzing experts’ visual strategies to create advanced training protocols and reduce the time-to-competence for new operators.
- Improved workplace safety: Assessing risk perception and attention levels to reduce accidents and optimize safety management.

Applications of CAVS
CAVS offers a wide range of applications in the fields of Security, Work Safety, Process Control, Training, and Endutainment. The technology allows:
- Hands-free interactions enabled through gaze control.
- Monitoring the correct attention levels during the execution of complex or repetitive tasks by detecting fatigue and distraction, benefiting worker well-being and work organization (e.g., signaling when to take a break or change activity).
- Extracting metrics to simplify and optimize industrial methods and processes.
The integration of CAVS is simple and immediate: no software rewriting, no changes to existing interfaces. All that is required is an eye tracker and license activation: CAVS acts as an intelligent layer between the existing system and the user interface, transforming any workstation into an interactive, eye-controlled interface.
