The inaugural ISP Futures Conference took place on 26–27 February at Colegio La Colina in Bogotá, bringing together Future Pathways Advisers from across the Americas. Over two days, attendees engaged in collaborative discussions and workshops aimed at improving how ISP schools guide students towards their future careers and university choices.

Who Are Future Pathways Advisers?

Future Pathways Advisers are part of a global network that offers personalised advice to ISP students and school communities. This conference is an essential part of ISP’s Professional Development pathways, helping advisers build supportive professional communities worldwide.

A Unique Gathering of Experts

Designed by advisers for advisers, the conference provided a platform for sharing best practices and insights on key topics such as university admissions trends, personalised counselling and career pathways. A committee of experts from six ISP schools in Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Canada and Brazil shaped the agenda to address real-world challenges.
The event featured speakers from various backgrounds, including university representatives and ISP leaders. Fidelma Murphy, ISP Divisional Chief Learning Officer, highlighted the importance of Future Pathways in preparing students for global careers:

“One of our greatest responsibilities as educators is to prepare students for the future by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to thrive in an ever-changing world. It goes beyond academic learning and focuses on developing well-rounded individuals who can adapt, innovate, and contribute meaningfully to society.

By focusing on these key areas, our schools with the support of our Future Pathways Advisors play a crucial role in preparing students not just for academic success, but for life beyond school, empowering them to face the challenges and seize the opportunities of the future.”
