What if your bag used to be someone’s outfit?
That’s not a metaphor — it’s textile-to-textile circularity in action.
Pedro del Hierro, one of Spain’s leading fashion brands, was looking for a tangible way to express its commitment to sustainability — not just through its collections, but also in its packaging. That meant rethinking one of the most common elements in retail: the shopping bag.
Together with Coleo, we designed and produced a fully recycled textile bag — made from post-consumer garments. The results were:
- 2 types of bags
- 100% recycled,
- 79% textile-to-textile,
- More tan 290kg of waste used
- 900 units made
- and traceable throughout the value chain thanks to our digital product passport technology.
These are not just eco bags — they’re material proof that fashion waste can be transformed into new value.
Garments that once had no future were collected, sorted, recycled, and turned into high-quality fabric. This fabric was then transformed into durable, elegant tote bags — used today in selected Pedro del Hierro stores.
The Impact
- Textile waste diverted from landfill
- New product made with zero virgin fibres
- Awareness raised among consumers — right at the point of purchase
Every bag carries a story of change. A new beginning for old clothes. A powerful gesture in the shift toward a circular fashion economy.
