Committed to training and safety at ASTICAN

At ASTICAN, continuous training of our team is a strategic priority to ensure the safety and efficiency of our operations. Recently, we have carried out two important training actions in our shipyard that reinforce our commitment to self-protection and environmental sustainability.

The first was an intensive training for our firefighters and HSE engineers, focusing on critical intervention equipment. This practical session included the use of self-contained breathing apparatus, intervention suits, oxygen cylinders and advanced techniques with special hoses and nozzles. In addition, we reviewed essential emergency response protocols. This activity is part of our Annual Training Plan and is part of the Self-Protection Plan (PAU), which is key to keeping our teams prepared for any eventuality.

The second action was an environmental emergency drill, in which we simulated a spill during a bunkering operation. Thanks to the coordination with the Port Authority and the specialised company SEPCAN, containment barriers were deployed and real response protocols were applied. Our personnel, together with firefighters and the HSE team, acted quickly to contain the simulated ‘spill’ and collaborate with external teams.

Both training actions reflect ASTICAN’s commitment to prevention, safety and respect for the environment. Thanks to the joint effort of all participants and the collaboration with specialised entities, we continue to strengthen our capacity to respond to incidents, ensuring a safer working environment for everyone.
