The Abat Oliba CEU University (UAO CEU) and the 4DHealth innovation and simulation centre have signed a strategic agreement that promotes a new teaching model in the field of healthcare. The agreement focuses on clinical simulation, an innovative methodology that allows healthcare professionals to be trained with greater preparation, safety and realism.

One of the most significant points of the agreement is the joint development of the new Interdisciplinary Centre for Clinical and Experimental Simulations (CISCE), which the UAO CEU will establish in Barcelona in collaboration with 4DHealth. This centre will combine the strengths, knowledge and best practices of both institutions, with a commitment to leadership and the integration of international standards of quality, safety and educational impact.

The agreement also provides training for university teaching staff in simulation methodologies, the design of innovative teaching materials and the development of joint projects in educational research and innovation.

“Simulation is not just a teaching tool: it’s a methodological revolution that allows us to better prepare the professionals of the future. With this alliance, we are taking a firm step toward providing the highest level of healthcare training”, said Dr. Arcadi Gual, rector of the UAO CEU.

For his part, Mr. Jordi Ferrer, manager of the Consorci Sociosanitari d’Igualada —the entity that owns 4DHealth— emphasised: “This collaboration exemplifies the model we champion: a joint, balanced project between institutions that puts innovation at the service of the education system and society”.

Also present at the signing ceremony were Dr. Jordi Palés, Dean of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, Dr. Swen Seebach, Vice-Rector for Quality, University Strategy and Internationalisation, and Maria Cònsul and Maria José Morera, coordinators of the Degree in Nursing program.

This project forms part of the Abat Oliba CEU University’s strategic commitment to cutting-edge healthcare training focused on personal care, quality and knowledge transfer.
