Startup Valencia has joined around thirty European organisations to urge the European Union to create a genuine single digital market, eliminating regulatory fragmentation among member states and allowing startups to compete on equal terms from day one.
The demand is set out in the 28thRegime report, promoted by leading entities such as European Startup Network, EU Inc, Latitude59, France Digitale, Estonian Founders Society, SAPIE, Startup Hungary and InnovUp, among others. All agree on the urgency of having a common digital platform for company formation, a harmonised framework for investment and a reduction of administrative hurdles that currently hinder technological growth within the EU.
The goal is to prevent Europe from continuing to lose competitiveness to regions such as the United States or Asia, and to ensure an environment that fosters innovation and retains talent.
Startup Valencia joins Allied for Startups
In parallel, Startup Valencia has joined Allied for Startups, the global network that promotes startup-friendly policies with a special focus on the European Union. This collaboration strengthens Valencia’s role as an international innovation hub and will allow Valencian startups to gain representation in the forums where the future of Europe’s digital economy is decided.
Both organisations will work together to foster the creation, scaling and consolidation of competitive startups throughout the European Union. They will also combine efforts to make the impact of startups and scaleups on the continent’s economy more visible and to promote a regulatory environment aligned with today’s innovation challenges.
According to Nacho Mas, CEO of Startup Valencia and VDS, joining Allied for Startups “strengthens our commitment to positioning Valencia as one of Europe’s most relevant innovation hubs”. “This alliance allows us to amplify the voice of our startups in the forums where the future is decided, while helping to create a regulatory environment that supports the growth and global competitiveness of tech entrepreneurship.”
