Technoterms: What Is a Deliverable in Horizon Europe?

OnSeptember 1, 2025

In Horizon Europe projects, a deliverable is one of the key building blocks that turns research and innovation plans into measurable results. It is a tangible output such as a report, prototype, technical drawing, software, or dataset that demonstrates the completion of a specific task or milestone set out in the project’s Grant Agreement.

Deliverables are more than just paperwork. They serve as proof of progress, showing that the consortium is meeting its commitments on time and according to the agreed quality standards. They also help the European Commission and stakeholders track the project’s achievements and assess its impact.

Each deliverable is linked to a specific Work Package and often comes with a due date, format, and submission requirements. For example, a communication strategy report might be due in month six, while a technical prototype could be scheduled for delivery in month eighteen. All deliverables are submitted through the Funding & Tenders Portal and become part of the official project record.

At Sustainable Innovations, we provide end-to-end deliverable management support. This includes planning deliverables in line with the project timeline, ensuring the quality and clarity of the content, checking compliance with EU guidelines, and coordinating the submission and review process. Our goal is to make deliverables not just a contractual requirement, but a powerful tool to showcase innovation, foster collaboration, and ensure project success.
