The Open Internacional de San Sebastián, a WTA 125 tournament organized by Tennium, concluded a thrilling week of tennis at the Real Club de Tenis San Sebastián with Russia’s Oksana Selekhmeteva claiming the singles title after defeating the Netherlands’ Anouk Koevermans 6-0, 6-4 in the final.
Selekhmeteva dominated from the start with a solid and aggressive game, confirming her top form and lifting the trophy in front of a packed crowd on the closing day.
In doubles, the title went to Anastasia Tikhonova / Tara Würth, who defeated Elvina Kalieva / Gabriela Lee 6-3, 6-0, showcasing excellent teamwork and control on court.
A week of high-level competition
The tournament, which offered $115,000 in prize money, featured a strong field of rising international players and memorable performances. Local favorite Ane Mintegi enjoyed special moments in front of her home crowd, securing a solid first-round win before falling in a competitive match against eventual champion Selekhmeteva.
Other standout players included Darja Semenistaja, Tamara Korpatsch, Sara Bejlek, and Anca Todoni, who delivered high-quality tennis and made San Sebastián the center of the WTA circuit throughout the week.

The Basque Country Clinic, held at the start of the tournament, gave children from regional tennis clubs the chance to share the court with professional players and tournament director Anabel Medina, bringing the sport closer to the local community.
Additionally, the Women’s Day brought together leading women from the Basque Country in sports, business, and research, highlighting female leadership and reinforcing the social impact of the tournament.
