The link between food and social media has intensified, transforming the way people live, share and interpret gastronomy. This development cannot be ignored by those who wish to develop training courses in the culinary sector.
In response to these challenges, ETI_CHEF: Respect in Every Bite offers an innovative model that integrates media literacy, ethics, netiquette, and critical thinking, engaging VET students and trainers in the food sector. The project aligns with European priorities, including the Digital Education Action Plan 2022-2027, the European Framework of Competences for Democratic Citizenship, and the EU Code of Practice on Disinformation 2022, promoting a more ethical, transparent, and safe culinary sector.
ETI_CHEF will provide an Interactive Guide on ethics and netiquette in gastronomy, Workshops and a Resource Pack for teachers and students, an Educational Escape Room to actively engage students, and the ETI_CHEF Platform, which will collect the content developed in the other work packages.
The partnership, strengthened by previous collaborations in Erasmus+ projects, has developed expertise in promoting sustainable gastronomy, demonstrating its ability to implement long-lasting initiatives. This experience enhances the group’s capacity and justifies an optimized budget to maximize impact. Through its dissemination, ETI_CHEF will strengthen the European network, fostering synergies to improve sector cohesion and reach a diverse audience.
The project has the following objectives:
1. Promote the integration of EU strategies on media literacy, ethics, and netiquette in the culinary sector, addressing online risks such as fake news, dangerous diets, and misinformation while managing digital transformation through training, resilience, and adaptation to new technologies.
2. Create new learning opportunities for trainers, teachers, and students, addressing the VET priority of innovation in education.
3. Promote the integration of critical, ethical, and netiquette principles among young people in the gastronomic sector to enhance media literacy and combat misinformation.
4. Develop resources to raise awareness about ethical and inclusive communication on social media, fostering integration, equality, and non-discrimination in the culinary sector.
To achieve them, the consortium will create:
· ETI_CHEF Manifesto: an interactive guide on ethics and netiquette in gastronomy.
· Ethical Bites: Workshop and Resource Pack for ethical practices and netiquette in gastronomy
· Educational Escape Room: navigating ethical dilemmas in gastronomy
· Platform ETI_CHEF: a hub for culinary ethics and sustainability
